Writing Competition

So I've been very busy writing. Not for this blog (until now of course), but for Key Note Books' competition for young writers (aged between 18-25) in conjunction with Guardian Books for stories geared towards children between 9-12 and 13-19. I discovered the competition through Neil Gaiman's Facebook post about it. Today was the deadline (if I understood the time difference correctly being as I'm in America and the competition is in the UK).

The story I've been working has settled (at least for the moment) on the title of 'The Color Thief'. Before it was 'Faded' and who knows what it may become by the end. So far it's just the first four thousand words which is what was needed for the competition. So I have much more to write. The competition is narrowed down to ten contestants each (ten for the ages 9-12 and ten for 13-19) by September 21st. After this (if I was one of the ones to survive) I'd have to submit the rest of the manuscript.

Now for some reading. (the rest of Simon Clark's story, Eren, and The Giver)

Next post I'll expand on the reasons I switched the title!
